Method
- 1
Form ground beef into 1/8 oz balls (we use 1/6 oz). Preheat cast iron (or non stick) skillet with just enough oil to cover the bottom
- 2
Place 2-3 balls of ground beef into skillet, leaving enough room to expand when smashed
- 3
Use metal spatula with parchment paper underneath and smash into patties. Season meat with generous amounts of salt and pepper (only one side)
- 4
Once edges of patty are browned and crisp, flip patties. Place slice of cheese and slice of onion immediately after flipping
- 5
Remove once cheese is completely melted and onion begins to wilt
- 6
Toast buns in oven for approx 3-5 min in oven at 350 degrees
- 7
Cover both buns with spread. Place tomato slice on bottom bun. Cover with 2-3 pieces of iceberg lettuce. Place burger patty with cheese and onion on top of lettuce. Cover with bun and as much spread as your heart desires
- 8
Finely dice white onion
- 9
Cook in preheated cast iron pan or non stick pan with no oil or butter
- 10
After 2-3 minutes of cooking, add small slice of butter and pinch of salt. Cook until caramelized
- 11
Mix mayo, ketchup, vinegar, relish, salt, and sugar in a bowl, mix until all ingredients are blended
- 12
Cook fries (we use air fryer)
- 13
Place cooked fries in baking dish. Cover with slices of American cheese
- 14
Bake until cheese is melted at 350 degrees
- 15
Top with spread and caramelized onions
Keep cooking
